  Anyone w/anxiety disorders? Describe it.

  i'm curious to see if anyone here has any major anxiety disorders and how it affects their lives.

  as a semi-confession, i think i may have something of this sort, but i'd like a comparison first.

  being a male, i never go to the doctors unless my leg is falling off, so i don't just want to go to a doctor to medicate a problem that could be overcome in other ways.

  Mimilly you just wrote my post. Although I have never tried meds, getting abuse out of my like and getting counseling for the abuse has really helped me. Now I get neither panic or anxiety attacks

  What's the deal with not needing Bethelites?

  as a disclaimer, i am an ex-jw (da'd) for about 15+ years, so i really haven't kept up on what's going on in bethel (come to think of it i wasn't really interested in it when i was a jw!

  recently, however, one of my relatives (current jw) commented that, although my nephew had applied to bethel (oh what a privilege!

  ), he was basically told he wasn't needed at this time because they aren't "mailing out the publications" there like they used to.

  What if...

  the r&f are not placing all the magazines and books in the US they used to?

  what if the r&f are not turning in the double $$$ they are supposed to?

  what if the borg are thinking the harvest work is done in North America and are moving to greerer $$$ pastures?

  what if North Americans are just too smart to buy the crap er rags er mags that the borg puts out?

  what if it really does cost too much to pay for room and board and the farms to feed all the free labor?

  what if the borg sees the lawsuits coming and is thinking of moving someplace they can't be touched?

  just thinking

  How many Artists here? Which field of Art?

  i know i asked this absolutely yonks back, then by the name of celtic, but with so many newcomers here i thought no harm but to ask once again.. how many artists do we have here or working in art related fields including film, music, theatre, environment, gardening, sculpture, graphic design, illustration, fine art, photograpy etc etc?.

  what hobbies do you have?

  how do you see your future artistic horizons opening up?

  Hi mark Shall I jump in here

  Most of mine are hobbies but I have made a bit of money doing a couple of things

  writing - both academic and prose/poetry (had 2 ebooks for sale on the net)

  drawing - mostly pencil sketches

  computer graphics

  photography

  interior decorating and

  wearable art (unique one-of-a-kind knitted sweaters)

  I hope to do more writing in the future. I have started to gather up much of what I have already written and have several chapters in a biography written although they will need a rewrite badly very soon.

  I think art therapy can be an extremely useful tool for people coming out of any traumatic experience. It can often access parts of the brain and memory that is not cognitive or verbal.

  A personal arts based workshop for me would have to include my computer - absolutely loaded with graphics software. I want to start playing with video editing.

  A professional arts workshop would need to include a sand box and various toys, stuffed animals and puppets, clay, paper and crayons, a doll house and dolls. It would also need to include a soft bat - one of those sponge ones and a wide variety of pillows and a punching bag - not all artistic but once the art brings out the feeling there needs to be a safe way to express it.

  As for the "performance" well this might not be considered artistic but I find it is for me - giving lectures. Such a high to talk for an hour or 2 and have the audience interested in wehat you are saying and asking for more at the end. Would love to do it again.

  i read a comment by belbab on hillary's post this morning...he remarked that he had asked a question after the 09/11 attack, that no one answered.

  well, i didn't even remember reading it, so i did a simple search.

  over the last few weeks a lot of people have come forward and posted stories of abuse while they were jws.

  these often were experiences as a child victim or a wife at the hands of an abusive husband.

  the forums are open to active jws and those who have left.

  Exactly Contagion - some dissociation is normal and healthy - imagine what basket cases we would be if we never spaced out at a meeting - hated it when they got rid of the windows

  Watchtowers million dollar scam

  back in the late eighties i was on the committee to build our cities new double kingdom hall so that all five halls would be under one roof.

  we needed to come up with five hundred thousand dollars to complete the new hall, so we had a kingdom hall fund drive where the local brothers would raise the needed funds.

  after two years we had collected the half million dollars, and guess where that money went????????

  Wow I posted something about this in here earlier today. Thanks for confirming it. I suspected as much from wow 30 years ago. They've been doing this for 30 years or more and they make the r&f think they don't have any money

  After double dipping the chicken I brown the chicken pieces in a medium hot pan then turn and brown on all sides. Then I put them on a drip pan and bake for an hour - cuts down on the grease/fat/oil

  When my sweet tooth is acting up I pour honey over the chicken about 10 minutes before it is done.

  I also do the same with pork chops and some steaks and liver - yes I said liver - the coating keeps it tender and juicy so yuo're not eating leather

  (((waiting))) Too few people understand how the mind can protect us.Sometimes the meds can interfere with the memory but repression really does a nice job of taking care of us
